With just 32 pitches across the site, there is plenty of space to breathe, unwind and enjoy your surroundings without feeling crowded or overlooked. Choose a back-to-basics pitch with no electricity for dark skies and a more unplugged stay, or opt for electric hook-up (up to 6AMP) for a little extra comfort.
For those seeking something quieter still, The Sanctuary offers adults-only pitches set apart from the main camping areas — a more secluded, slower-paced corner of the site, designed for stillness, privacy and a deeper connection to nature.
Our facilities
We pride ourselves on our multi award-winning facilities, perfectly positioned for those looking for a campsite near York or Harrogate, yet designed to feel a world away from both.
Our purpose-built Scandinavian-style shower and toilet block has been carefully designed to offer a more luxurious experience, with a calm, high-end feel that goes far beyond the usual campsite standard. It is heated by our carbon-neutral biomass system and incorporates heat recovery technology, combining comfort with low-impact design.
Guests also have access to a small on-site shop stocked with essentials, along with fridge and freezer space and pot-washing facilities. Throughout the site, we use carefully selected premium products, including hand wash, washing-up liquid and hand lotion, to create a more considered and comfortable experience.
Our facilities have been recognised with multiple national ‘Loo of the Year’ awards, setting a standard that few campsites come close to.

Our secluded tent pitches offer a simple, back-to-basics camping experience for those wanting to disconnect from the online world and enjoy a true dark skies holiday.
Set within peaceful natural surroundings, these pitches are ideal for guests who value space, quiet and a more traditional way of camping. Each pitch has its own private fire pit, so evenings can be spent cooking, relaxing and enjoying the atmosphere of the site.
It’s camping in its simplest and best form, with nature, fresh air and room to breathe.
Tent Pitches With Electric Hook-Up
Powered by our on-site PV and battery system, these pitches provide up to 6AMPs, suitable for lighting, charging and low-power essentials while still keeping the feel of an outdoor escape.

Adults Only Tent Pitches – The Sanctuary
Tucked away from the main campsite, The Sanctuary is our adults-only area designed for those seeking a quieter, more immersive stay in nature.
Set amongst trees and backing onto a gentle stream, these pitches feel more secluded and untouched, with wildlife all around — from birdsong in the morning to the chance of spotting kingfishers, otters, and other native species nearby.
There’s no electricity or dogs here, just space, stillness, and your own private fire pit to settle into the rhythm of the outdoors.
It’s a place for slow mornings, quiet evenings, and uninterrupted time together — ideal for couples or anyone looking to properly switch off.
