We had a old friends reunion at Baxby Manor in October 2009, it was absolutely wonderful, cannot fault any aspect of our stay in this beautiful manor house. Barney Smith could not have been more helpful and was very welcoming, a nice thought was a welcome basket full of Yorkshire produce (not to mention the new laid eggs from nearby hens). Just a short drive from York and lots of interesting small market towns to visit, plenty to see and lots of good restaurant and pubs to eat in. We had a spectacular Sunday lunch at the Plough at Fadmore (near Kirkbymoorside). Highly recommended.

Baxby Manor is a high standard holiday rental in an excellent location, perfect for our large family who like to cycle in the area and visit nearby attractions such as York and Castle Howard. Plenty of good resturants in the vicinity.

What a beautiful place to have stayed. We were 4 couples and stayed 3 nights in November.
The house had everything we could've needed. There was so much space. The lounge was great in the evenings to sit and catch up. The kitchen was lovely in the morning- underfloor heating- to all sit and plan the day ahead.
The welcome hamper was very generous. Lots of goodies to enjoy.

The area is great to explore and with York on the doorstep what more could you ask for. The local pub (5 mins walk) cooked a mean steak and the wine selection was good. A short walk back to the house in rain wasnt too bad!!

We have recommended this property to many others and we are considering coming back again for another go although telling everyone lese means it will be too popular and we wont be able to stay when we want to!

Absolutely gorgeous property and one the owner should be very proud of!

My friends and I have stayed at Baxby Manor (8 of us in total) two years on the trot, and no doubt will be going back again this year. There is plenty of room for people to relax and take in the warming atmosphere of the house, with its very clean and well appointed bedrooms and bathrooms, the fantastic lounge, with its open log fire, the very well stocked library and games room, and the more than welcoming farmhouse kitchen. The gardens are well kept and beautiful.
There is plenty of countryside to explore, and a lovely local pub (10 minutes walk away) that does good food, and the landlord is very welcoming. The surrounding historic villages are easy to get to from Husthwaite and offer a wide range of local produce shops and pubs/restaurants.
The owners of Baxby Manor are very accommodating and there is always a lovely hamper full of local produce to tempt those tastebuds.
We’ll be back.

Baxby Manor was a real find.. The house has bags of character with plenty of room yet still keeping the cosy feel. Our stay was thouroughly enjoyed by our whole party and we all said we would definitely be returning.
